The first micropub has landed in Chelmsford in Essex based in a disused shop in Moulsham Street and is called the Hop Beer Shop. It will be adhering to the typical micro pub values, a small venue that promotes a good chat over a beer with no loud music or electronic gadgets.
There are a total of 29 microbreweries in Essex which in addition to all the stuff coming out from the London Brewers will ensure a huge range of beers and in addition to this there will be a large range of craft beers from all over including America.
The owner John Prior is keen to listen to his customers and source beers for them as well as holding ‘meet the brewer’ events. Sounds like it’s going to be great – anyone fancy a trip to Chelmsford?
