Having first reported on the planning application September last year, we are delighted to report that The Brickmakers Alehouse opened their doors to their first visitors over the weekend.
Set in a building that was used by a nearby brick and tile company since the 1930s, the Brickmakers is dog friendly and will be open 12 – 10pm, Sunday – Wednesday and 12- 11pm Thursday – Saturday. Children are welcome until 7pm.
Both owners Martin and Robin hold the BIIAB Award in Beer and Cellar Quality and are licence owners. Having previously worked at beer festivals and pubs they say they focus is on providing a warm and friendly space for all sections of the community. Conversation is encouraged amongst it’s patrons but equally quiet corners are provided for you to just sit and have a quiet pint.
4-6 cask ales will be on offer, served straight from the cask with a variety of ciders, bottled and canned beers also available. A selection of wine, whiskies, gins and other spirits will also be on offer along with coffee and a selection of bar snacks.
With monthly events planned, the first their first event on 12 Nov is a social get together for the local CAMRA branch – CAMRA South East Sussex. more details can be found on the facebook event page.
Initial reviews have been very positive and we want to congratulate Martin and Robin on their successful opening. Have one for yourself guys!
