For whatever reason, growing up we never had advent calendars. It wasn’t until I was well into my 30s with kids before I started experiencing the advent calendar madness. It was December 2015 and after returning from work the wife presented me with my very own advent calendar. To my surprise she painstakingly created a home made advent calendar with 25 craft ale bottles individually wrapped all beautifully presented in a home made advent calendar box. Needless to say that year, I understood the appeal.
