We previously mentioned the possibility of Peterborough’s first micropub opening by the landlord of Coalheavers Arms, Tom Beran.

Tom’s dream is now one step closer to reality as he has a 10 year lease on the property, which was previously a pharmacy. He is now hard at work converting the premises to provide Peterborough it’s first taste of a micropub experience.

Mr. Beran said:  “We are delighted to be opening Peterborough’s first Micro Pub. This property is ideal for Peterborough real ale fans and adds another venue to the town’s real ale and craft beer scene.

“Micro pubs are the new boom in hospitality and leisure – they harken back to a simpler time when pubs were just about good beer, and good conversation- no TV, no music, work-friendly hours”

The micropub will be the perfect location for real ale fans drinking in the city centre, with 5 different ales available along with a range of bottles and cans available to purchase.
