Micropub owner, Chris Rigg plans to open his new micropub & bottleshop, ‘The Bay Hop’, over the upcoming August bank holiday weekend, located on Penrhyn Road in Colwyn Bay.
Chris saw a gap in the market for the area after noticing the amount of micro breweries and lack of real ale pubs available, he said: “In the North East we had seven or eight micro-pubs in a small area around us but when we came here and looked into it we couldn’t find any locally.
“I was surprised because there were so many great independent breweries around here.
“There are still not many places dedicated to selling beers from independent breweries.”
For the opening of the new micro pub, a one-off cask will be available provided by Conwy Brewery to celebrate the opening, while ‘The Bay Hop’ will receive a second cask, this will be stored for the year and used to celebrate their first anniversary.
The new micro pub is set to close at 10pm, however, containers can be filled to take and enjoy at home.
