Peter Carr and Andy Le Grange have opened Somerset’s first micropub this month.

38 Market Street, Somerset, which was previously the Vintage Tea Room, is now home to a range of the best craft ales available. The pair said: “We will be using a mix of local ales as well as some from further afield that other pubs won’t have on tap including the very tasty Funky Monkey.”

Peter and Andy have an admirable 45 years of experience within the industry between them.

Peter said: “Andy had been talking to me about changing his job and running a pub for a while.

“But you don’t really want to be getting involved with a normal pub as on top of the lease there are so many overheads.

“I suggested we set up a micro pub and Andy agreed saying that’s easy we’ll call it Just Ales.”

Reassuring any concerns from locals he said: “Our neighbours don’t need to worry about rowdy drunks as we won’t open late, if it is really busy we may stay open until 8pm but that’s it.”

Just Ales does not include a bar inside of the building, Ales are served to the table with no gambling machines, music or TV’s in sight.
