A former city centre shop, located on Derby Road, will open as Nottingham’s latest micropub at the end of the month, by the new owners, Richard Nettleton and Stephen Mayes.

The new micropub ‘A Room With A Brew’ will serve traditional Nottingham brewed ale, offering customers the option of 10 different ales. With eight different pumps and two kegs, the ales will be a mixture of their own and other locally sourced ales. Richard Nettleton said: “I do all of the brewing and it’s more or less done in my back garden! We’ve had the brewery for two years now.”

Some of the ales Richard has already produced include Hoppy Potter and the Goblet of Ale along with Beerfest at Tiffany’s, these ales are already available at several micropubs throughout the Nottingham area.

Steve Mayes said: “The new micro-pub will sell real ales, ciders and fine wines, but no lager.

“There will be no loud music, no slot machines, just a quiet place for people to come and have a drink.

“It’s been named after the book A Room with a View by E. M. Forster – we’re carrying on the theme like our beers.

“Derby Road is a great area too – it’s up-and-coming and there are a lot of pubs and cafes. People are saying they’ll add us to their pub crawls.”
