A new micropub, set in a disused shop on Queens road, is set to open shortly. Having been granted planning application in August, David Brumley and his partner Antonia Clarke are hoping to have the refurbishment done towards the end of October and opening soon after.

The pub will have room for approximately 50 people and will be serving cask ales directly from the cask in a cellar behind the bar giving visitors full visibility of how the beer is being kept. Along with real ale they will also be serving local gins, wines and ciders from the Sussex area and traditional snacks from local artisan producers.

Following a succesfull career in the City, David decided to quit the rat race and havea  change in career based on his passion of craft and cask ale. Having completed  range of beer quality awards David is now looking to share that passion with his customers.

We wish David and Antonia the best of luck in their new venture and will be adding the listing once it’s been confirmed as opening. Of course if we’re ever in the area we’ll be sure to stop by and give them a full review!
