Coventry is set to receive it’s first micropub after plans were recently approved by the council to convert the former diner in Shelton Square, on two conditions, the development must begin no later than three years from the approval date & must follow the submitted plan.
Applicant Angelique Cherry, plans to sell real ale & cider, predominately from West Midlands breweries and straight from the cask.
She said: “The aim is to establish this as a quiet, responsibly run premises where patrons will be able to come and enjoy a drink and conversation with friends and family in a comfortable, intimate environment within the city centre.
“Our aim will be to bring the beloved community pub right into the centre of the city.”
Once open, the micropub will be open from noon to 7pm Monday-Thursday, noon to 9pm on Friday & Saturday and 12pm-6pm on Sundays & Bank Holidays.
The new micropub will also create two new full time jobs, with the owners hoping to employ more local residents at a later date.
