A new micropub has opened at Rowan Yard in Norton, which was previously used as a blacksmiths yard and stabling house, dating all the way back to the mid-18th century.

James Neilsen & Neal Gray who also runs ‘The Green Hops’ in Billingham, transformed the building, along with the previous tenant, John Hyde, giving the pair the inspiration to name the micropub – Hydes Bar.

Neal said: “It looks great.

“It is a very old fashioned and very quirky space.”

He added: “The building’s owner, Paul, is a real ale fan, so he thought it was the ideal place for a micropub and we agree.”

The micropub includes a beer garden & offers a selection of real ales & real ciders, draught beers are also available along with wine, spirits & bar snacks. The new pub can be found on Billingham Road, Norton and is open Monday – Wednesday 11am – 11:30pm, Thursday – Saturday 11am – midnight & Sunday 11:30am until 11pm.
