In the coming months, Franzi Florack is hoping to convert an empty premises in Wolverton, Milton Keynes, into a micropub and bottleshop, named Biergarten, that could eventually sell 150 variates of real and & beer from local breweries.

Franzi said: “I’d like to be a positive addition to Wolverton’s list of independent traders, but also be there for the whole of Milton Keynes.

“You can buy craft beer elsewhere, but the special thing about the shop is that you get the service with it as well.

“The investment is all coming from the community too – there are 11 local investors who all have ownership.”

She continued: “I want to try to create the opportunity for people to meet in a friendly environment.

“There are four local breweries and we are going to stock all of them. We’re also going to have things like bookshelves and board games, but it will be more about the shop than the cafe.”

While the plans have not been completely finalised, Franzi says that they are close and is hoping to open Biergarten on May Day bank holiday. Biergarten will have enough room to house 20 people at a time.
